Hi everyone. I thought I'd give this blogging thing another try. Most of you probably remember when I avidly blogged Nathan's first year - wasn't that an exciting time! Now he's four, and I'm feeling up to it again. I have three main reasons for starting up again. One - it's an excellent way to keep family and friends up to speed with what's going on with us. Two - I've been reading a ton about early childhood development and education. I think it will be helpful for me to paraphrase some of it to clarify and cement my own understanding. You know what they say - if you can explain it, then you really understand it. Thirdly, I notice that I have a tendency to spend a LOT of time reading about all these wonderful things I can be doing with the kids, and not nearly so much time actually doing it. I'd like to use the blog as kind of an accountability tool. If I post that I plan to do such and such, then I'm thinking that somehow psychologically, I'll be more likely to follow through. Time will tell on that one!
