No, it wasn't my birthday. I'm definitely blessed but don't generally go around being called the Blessed Mother!
Seriously, though - Mary is our spiritual mother so we thought we'd include her in our family birthday traditions ... including the birthday plate I painted and had fired at Pottery Creations, and the birthday hat from Nana. Nathan wanted Mary to wear the hat, but, um, then we wouldn't have been able to see her, so Nathan got to wear the hat for her.

I loved the Birthday plate for The Blessed Mother's Birthday. I gave quite a few of those birthday hats as gifts. They really made a hit!

This is such a great idea! Just found your blog through Catholic Icing today. Love that you also are homeschooling 2 boys and are a catechist for The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. My mother in law in MN has been going to classes for that and I'd LOVE to learn more about it, but I can't seem to get my hands on a good book. Classes are too far away, or not Catholic. Any suggestions for learning so I can teach my children the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd?
Thanks!!
